Neighborhood Centers offers on-going support and resources to parents and other adults through home-visits, parenting classes, and adult education. Our adult programs build skills and strengthen natural networks of support to help families become self-sufficient. Our Family Support Program is credentialed under the Iowa Family Support Credential Program.
We offer parenting home visits to help families work through issues they face, to set goals, and to provide an environment in which parents can talk about and practice their parenting skills.
Our adult education program provides parents with a way to model continuing education and encourage family literacy. We offer English Language Learners (ELL) and GED/ High School Diploma classes.
We host events that encourage parent involvement and family togetherness. Examples include family fun nights, cookouts and barbeques, and family dinners.
